The Most Interesting Man in Arizona | Titus

I participated in an educational course with a well-known international photographer, Scott Robert Lim. During the wedding photography section, Mr. Lim stated that there are only four critical poses for men and those four poses can be captured in ten minutes or less. Hey, wedding photography is no joke. The photographer is under deadline and needs to be speedy. Although Scott's suggested poses are part of my posing catalog, this pose of Titus is not one of them.

I read a critique of the aptly celebrated and multi-award winning master portrait photographer, Annie Leibovitz that stated if one takes the time to study her work that she essentially only has two poses for men. Intrigued, I quickly performed a Google search, and sure enough, after reviewing a couple of pages of images, I saw a pattern emerge. Although Annie's favored poses for men are part of my arsenal of poses, this pose of Titus is not one of them.

Regardless of the pose, an engaging photograph is always about the eyes and the connection between the subject and the viewer. There is no substitute for connection. This is why I wholeheartedly engage with my clients. We get to know each other. We talk, we laugh, we connect. And that connection is what you see in this image of Titus, who looks like the most interesting man in the world, not just in Arizona.
